Under Australian Law, you will need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NIM) which I can supply to you or you can download it from this website at FORMS. Under Australia Law this has to be completed and submitted to me at least one month and one day prior to the date of you wedding ceremony and is valid for 18 months.  This notice can be shortened by the Courts under very special circumstances. 

If you are coming from overseas to be married in Australia this can be sent to me by post, fax or e-mail and the original presented to me when you arrive in Australia. 

Prior to the wedding I will need to see your original full birth certificates, if you have been married before, then evidence of dissolution of your last marriage, original decree absolute or death certificates.  These are usually sighted at the time of completing the NIM but can be sighted by myself prior to the wedding day. 

Couples have to be 18 years of age or older to get married in Australia.  Minors can apply to the Court with their parents consent to waive this Law but at least one of the partners will have to over 18 years or age.
